The Big Question |
. Some of you may think the Golden Rule of Money is some kind of joke or is a putdown on the moneyed elite. The evidence clearly indicates that Golden Rule of Money is a fact of life, equally as important to understand as "Where do babies come from?" Most people eventually learn where babies come from but, in spite of the fact that money impacts their lives every day, a large percentage of the population cannot accurately answer two simple questions, "What is money?" and "Where does money come from?" Well, even if you do know, you are about to find out things about money that will knock your socks off .

Setting the Context |
. The intent of this website is to communicate accurately and effectively, The Story of Money. Collectively, the TLC-Life-Center's websites explain money in considerable detail, but in order to understand money, it takes the reader a significant amount of time and a commitment to learn. Most people have neither the time nor the commitment. The inspiration about how to overcome this problem came from viewing a twenty-minute video titled: The Story of Stuff. If you have not already read the review on our Economic Sanity website, please take a moment to do so. The review is brief and is duplicated in the section below.

A Review of the Video: The Story of Stuff |
. An Eye-opener on
. . Of all the films, videos, television programs, and other forms of communication designed to acquaint us with our environmental and economic perils, The Store of Stuff outshines them all by light years. Delivering the producers intended message is what a documentary film/ video is supposed to do. The Store of Stuff accomplishes this task effectively, and does so in only twenty minutes. Its intended message is expressed and displayed in masterful simplicity. A woman (Annie Leonard) standing in front of a blank white background, talks to us while what she is saying is being displayed around her in line-drawing animations. Her words and the animation brilliantly join forces to tell the previously untold story of the true cost of material goods we so willingly buy and so glibly throw away. Once you've seen it, your perspective on how humans relate to planet Earth will never be the same. She talks fast enough to keep the younger generation from getting board and clearly enough so that anybody from a child to aging grandparents can get its message. It's to the point, without any foo-foo or fancy special effects. The technology of production is available to anybody with a computer (+ software), basic animation talent and a minimum budget. The behind the scenes creators are obviously masters of video communication. The end result, in terms of message delivery, outshines multi-million-dollar productions. Not only that, it is the perfect lead-in to a much needed follow-up video which asks and answers the next set of questions. TLC-Life-Center is proposing a follow-up video done in a similar style and format titled: The Story of Money . |
